Control Knobs For Vox Amplifiers and Guitars

Genuine and Original Thomas Vox (US) Chrome Plated Control Knob - These control knobs were removed from Thomas Vox amplifiers that I purchased to "part out." I have hand polished each knob to enhance the luster of the chrome plating. Includes a set screw to fasten to the control shaft. The set screw supplied with these knobs might either be slotted or a hex head, based on our inventory and our discretion. These are not reproductions, they are the real deal. As these knobs are used and more than fifty years old, they may exhibit some patina, wear, minor nicks or cloudiness in the chrome. Offered "as-is" without a return privilege.

Genuine Vox "Chicken Head" Black Plastic Control Knob - Set of Two - These are the "press on" style chicken head knobs used on the modern production of Vox amps. These knobs are for "split-shaft, splined" control pots. As these knobs do not have set screws, they are not suited for standard 1/4" control shafts. Please look at the picture at lower left that shows the type of split shaft these knobs require. These knobs do not fit vintage Vox amps unless the amp has a knurled control shaft, as shown at left.

JMI Style Voltage Selector Knob (cap only) - A rotary voltage selector switch was common on JMI Vox amps from the 1960s. Unfortunately, these voltage selector switches have not withstood the test of time. Many of these switches have broken, often losing their selector knob totally. To add to the complication, such voltage selector switches have been made illegal in many countries, so a reproduction of the switch asssembly is not very likely these days.
North Coast Music is providing an effective solution to this problem. Have your tech "hard wire" your amp to the desired AC voltage for your country, then have your tech remove the broken voltage selector switch and replace it with one of these reproduction voltage selector knobs. This will require the fabrication of a small piece of aluminum for the underside of the chassis to support and fasten the voltage selector knob. Although the knob will be non functional, your amp will retain its stock appearance.
Size of JMI Style Voltage Selector Knob (cap only): ~1" diameter and ~5/16" tall. The access hole for this knob in an JMI Vox chassis is ~1.125".
